SA R8 (2026-2027): Amending the Faculty Handbook to Require Syllabus Publication on the Class Roster and Encourage Common Syllabi for Multi-Section Courses

Whereas, Section 6.1 of the Faculty Handbook, under the heading “Building a Syllabus,” provides that instructors are encouraged, but not required, to attach their syllabi to the Cornell Class Roster, even in draft form;

Whereas, the Class Roster confirms that a syllabus is not posted for every class, and that each undergraduate college separately establishes its own syllabus expectations in a manner determined by its dean, producing an uneven standard across the university;

SA R7 (2026-2027): Reforming Annual Anti-Bias and Transparency Training Procedures

 

Whereas, Article VI, Section 5.C(b)(iii) of the Bylaws currently charges the Campus Pulse Committee with “Planning, scheduling and running required student assembly anti-bias and transparency trainings for members of the Student Assembly” (Bylaws lines 507–508);
