SA R10 (2026-2027): Upholding Cornell's Health Excuse Policy and Ending Faculty Requests for Medical Notes
Whereas, Cornell Health’s Health Excuse Policy states that “Cornell Health does not provide excuses for routine illnesses,” injuries, and mental health problems that lead students to miss classes, labs, studios, exams, or deadlines, a longstanding policy that Cornell Health describes as similar to those of most major universities and consistent with the recommendations of the American College Health Association [1],
SA R9 (2026-2027): Expanding the Office of Ethics and the Office of Elections, Requiring Continuity of Membership, and Establishing an ROTC Liaison
Whereas, the Office of Ethics and the Office of Elections are the independent offices of the Student Assembly, established under Article VI, Section 7 of the Bylaws to provide independent oversight over functions of the Assembly;
Whereas, Article VI, Section 7, Subsection B provides that the Office of Ethics shall consist of seven voting members, and Subsection C provides that the Office of Elections shall consist of nine voting members;
